Our walk starts with a gentle climb along the river for approx. 3 hours. It’s important to remember to take in everything around you as it’s truly remarkable. We will then start to climb to get a good view of the first Incan building called Llactapata. After a short rest there, we will continue onwards for 2 hours to our lunch place where we will be surrounded by native plants. After lunch, we can rest before we start ascending again and walk for another 2 two hours to reach our second highest point called Runkurakay (3950mamsl). It is along this path that we stop at another Incan site. Then the climbing is done for the day, and it’s time to descend 3 hours to our campsite.
